The relatively recent beginning of travel soccer in the LMVSC has grown
from an initial group of just a few girls travel teams to 23 boys and girls teams in 2004.
With nine boys and fourteen girls teams, the LMVSC Travel Division has undergone considerable growth over the past five years.
The LMVSC has created formal developmental program --- licensed coaches, professional trainers,
small-sided match play that represents just the start of LMVSC's expanding commitment to the community for competitive soccer.
By establishing the LMVSC Executive Board position of Director of Coaching,
the club moves forward its program to train coaches in the latest techniques,
tactics and procedures developed and put forth by the national youth coaching community.
The LMVSC assists coaches in obtaining both USSF and/or NSCAA licenses and diplomas.
Our goal is to have every travel coach with a license/diploma.
A set of strong, tested criterion for selecting coaches has been put in place to ensure
from the earliest stages in player identification and pool development, the club has put forward qualified coaches.
Development of our youth with licensed coaches, professional skill trainers, small-sided match play
in the proper setting and environment for children to learn, the best fields in Northern Virginia
and a volunteer organization totally dedicated to the youth of our community paint a bright future
for our children not only in the travel soccer community but also in the community.
